As the Senior Systems Design Engineer you will design major system components (evaporator systems, condenser systems, controls systems) used in large scale freezer rooms that biotech companies use to store life sciences material. You will work closely with other teams, such as Project Management, Manufacturing, and Product Management to create competitive designs for Life Science Solutions. The selected individual must have the technical expertise to support product design projects, product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality & reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering and stage gate Project Development Process practices.

This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite a week) and will be based out of our Noblesville IN location, Relocation assistance is available.

What you will do:

· Meet the needs of internal and external customers, through documenting, understanding and prioritizing customer requirements.

· Apply expert technical expertise (in electro/mechanical engineering) to solve design problems or to gauge appropriateness of product to various applications.

· Lead project teams to meet performance, reliability, cost and schedule objectives.

· Facilitate design reviews and test plan reviews to ensure a robust and reliable design.

  • Conduct design FMEAs; develop and execute resulting risk mitigation plans.

  • Provide technical support to laboratory technicians, manufacturing engineering, suppliers, technical service and operations.

· Create and maintain engineering documentation, including 3D models, bills of materials, drawings, and specifications.

· Both domestic and international travel may be required. Estimated travel is 15%.

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 5 years of engineering or product design experience is required.

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering is a plus.

Ideally, you would also be familiar with one or more of the following :

  • Able to lead cross-functional product engineering teams and deliver on select design elements for projects.

  • Expert understanding of refrigeration system functions including singles stage and/or compound refrigeration systems, heat transfer, airflow and ventilation.

  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, project management and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to efficiently understand and organize information necessary to make engineering decisions.

  • Ability to make progress by completing tasks and deliverables in a multi-tasking environment (several concurrent assignments) on time.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate up, down, and across the organization.

Base Compensation Range is $94,950 to $125,550
